Gorenje has increased its brand value despite the financial and economic crisis. According to results of a study performed by the independent European Brand Institute from Vienna, the value of the brand Gorenje increased by 13 million euros to 458 million euros in comparison to last year.

Monday, 5th October 2009, Ljubljana, Slovenia Gorenje is a "Trusted Brand"

Gorenje won the Trusted Brand award, presented to companies whose brands are the most popular among Slovenian consumers. In the category of home appliances, Gorenje brand once again took the first place, thus remaining the only company to reach this place in the three years since this research has been conducted. This year's victory, again, was quite convincing as Gorenje was declared a trusted brand by 72.8 percent of all respondents.

Tuesday, 22nd September 2009, Velenje Gorenje Innovators Receive the Highest National Honour

Last Thursday, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Slovenia presented the awards for innovations launched in 2008. In the national finals, the best among the 185 innovations contributed by over 500 innovators who applied at the regional level, won seven gold, eleven silver, and twelve bronze awards, and twelve diplomas.

Yesterday, Gorenje exhibition area at the IFA fair hosted the German biathlon star Michael Greis, winner of the 2006 winter Olympics and a perennial winner of biathlon world championships. Gorenje has proudly sponsored this athlete since 2007.

Wednesday, 17th June 2009, Moskva / Velenje Gorenje takes part in a charity campaign "Together against Breast Cancer" in Moscow This year, Gorenje joined the charity campaign organized each year in Russia by Avon, as a way of raising funds to fight breast cancer. The campaign included a charity lottery for which Gorenje contributed one of the prizes – a pink retro refrigerator embellished with a precious ribbon made of white gold, contributed again by Zlatarna Celje (the Celje Goldsmiths).

Wednesday, 15th April 2009, Ljubljana Franjo Bobinac awarded French National Order of Merit

On 15 April, was Franjo Bobinac, Gorenje president and CEO, awarded the French National Order of Merit by the French ambassador in Slovenia, Mrs. Chantal de Bourmont. Mrs. Chantal de Bourmont stressed during the bestowal ceremony, which took place in her Ljubljana residence, that the award is expression of gratitude to Mr. Franjo Bobinac for cultivating and promoting relations between both countries, especially regarding the economy. The award is given by the French President.
