Trade union announced a strike, although the company wants to pay workers more than 2 million euros in special bonus
Gorenje, d. o. o., on 25 September paid a special bonus for August to all employees in Gorenje's factories, IPC and Gorenje's support services directly related to production. We also intend to pay out this bonus for the following three months. Employees in production have been an extremely important part of the company's recent success with their quality and dedicated work, so the management decided to pay this bonus despite the fact that after the last three consecutive successful months, the company still shows a cumulative loss in the period January-August 2020. Upon this decision, Trade Union announced a strike.

Gorenje has already reduced the number of layoffs due to business reasons by 40%
At the end of April, due to a sharp drop in orders and revenues as a result of the coronavirus epidemic, the Hisense Europe Group launched a redundancy program in four companies in Slovenia. After adopting the criteria for determining redundant workers, in which the trade union did not want to participate, we then reached an additional agreement according to which in any Hisense Gorenje company where there are redundancies, both of the spouses or extramarital partners can not lose their jobs, also any single parents will not be made redundant in any of the companies. Until the preparation of the draft redundancy program for the company Gorenje, d. o. o., which we have already presented to the trade union, we have managed to reduce the number of layoffs due to business reasons in this company by 40%, from the originally planned 544 to 327.

Hisense Europe Group forced to cut the number of employees due to severe economic impact of coronavirus pandemic
Following the announcement of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the epidemic in Slovenia in mid-March, we have already seen a decline in household appliances orders in March 2020. The trend continues in April. As a result of state measures to ban the sale of goods and services to consumers, the sales of household appliances have fallen dramatically both locally and in most European countries, where restrictive measures have been implemented. In the first quarter of 2020, we recorded a significant loss, a large majority in March. In the second quarter of 2020, in April and May 2020 we expect an additional loss and, due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and completely changed circumstances on the markets, and a significantly worse performance than the original estimates for the period, which predicted a profit of € 1.1 million. Hisense Group is therefore forced to implement various crisis measures, among which is also reduction of the number of employees in all companies in the Group. In doing this, all Hisense Europe Group companies will strive to minimize redundancies by using soft methods of staff reductions, including the disinvestment of non-core companies, outsourcing, consensual leave, retirement, etc. We will also focus on sales increase, speeding up the e-commerce business and other operational adjustments to ensure the survival of the company in the expected global recession, following the coronavirus pandemic.
