At the Hisense Europe Industrial Park in Velenje, we hosted the APPLiA - Home Appliance Europe Director General, Mr. Paolo Falcioni, who highlighted Hisense Europe as proof that Europe still hosts world-class industrial ecosystems.
APPLiA is a Brussels-based association representing the home appliance industry in Europe. APPLiA serves as a unified voice for manufacturers and advocates with European institutions for policies that promote innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency in one of Europe's largest manufacturing sectors, both in terms of revenue and number of employees.
Falcioni met with Hisense Europe CEO Hanson Han, who highlighted that "ensuring and maintaining the competitiveness of the industry requires the right conditions and an appropriate supportive environment". Supporting industrialization, investments and productivity is just as crucial in Europe as supporting R&D and innovation.
Falcioni then toured Hisense Europe’s manufacturing plants, acoustic, electronics and durability labs, and Hisense Europe’s European R&D center. Through detailed on-site presentations, we offered a glimpse into the future of our appliances and services under the Hisense, Gorenje and ASKO brands, a future based on innovation, design, sustainability and customer focus.
“The visit to the Hisense Europe Industrial Park in Velenje was a powerful reminder that Europe still hosts world-class industrial ecosystems,” said Falcioni. “What immediately stands out is the scale and integration of the site: R&D, testing, certification, production and logistics, all combined in one place, employing thousands of people. Hisense Europe is a clear example of what a fully-fledged industrial ecosystem in Europe looks like today.”
Apart from the infrastructure, the first man of APPLiA was most impressed by the employees. "The combination of advanced manufacturing, rigorous and advanced testing, and motivated and proud employees demonstrates what our sector can achieve when innovation and industrial capabilities go hand in hand," he said at the conclusion of his visit to our facilities in Velenje.
