today we'll take a look at some interesting challenges the
IT team had to face during the coronavirus epidemic. Not only did they have to
ensure a working remote access to 5000 people in 3 days, but they had to
physically move the entire server from Düsseldorf to Velenje – during lockdown.
Read about how they tackled these obstackles and mastered the challenge. Next, we will be hearing from out best neighbour, the
Mercator Group, who also had to switch gears quite rapidly in their retail
business at the outbreak of coronavirus. We were able to help them with the
donation of protective equipment, so they could ensure safety for their
frontline employees behind the counters of the grocery and other stores.
Boštjan Vodeb is calling in from Belgrade, Serbia,
explaining how they set up alternative paths of distribution. They actually
were overprepared, as he says, but it is encouraging that the retail is
functioning in Serbia again, although trouble is not over yet as businesses
will still suffer the consequences of this global interruption. They learned
several lessons during this epidemic, check out the video to find out more.
