Franjo Bobinac elected to the CECED Steering Committee

CEO and President of Gorenje Franjo Bobinac was elected to the Steering Committee of the European Committee of the Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED) at CECED's General Assembly Meeting. The Steering Committee acts as supreme body of the CECED as it draws up guidelines for CECED's activities.

The Steering Committee is composed of eight representatives of the biggest large home appliances producers and two providers of small appliances. The election of Mr. Bobinac to the committee confirms Gorenje's role as one of the most important and high-ranking players in the white-goods industry and it is also a personal commendation to Mr. Bobinac who has been managing Gorenje Group since July 2003.

Gorenje is ranked among the leading European manufacturers of home appliances boasting a sixty-year history. With technologically perfected, superiorly designed and energy-efficient home appliances is present in seventy countries worldwide and generates the majority of its revenues in European markets. With a ninety percent share of exports, it is the most internationally oriented Slovenian company. In 2009, Gorenje Group generated EUR 1.2 billion in sales revenue with more than 10,000 employees.

CECED (Conseil Européen de la Construction d'appareils Domestiques) represents the household appliance manufacturing industry in Europe. Its main objective is to strive for improvement of performance of household appliances with reduced environmental impact. The Association acts as a partner in dialogue with the EU's political and regulatory institutions that prepare and pass acts which are binding for EU members. Gorenje is a member of CECED since 1998.
