Athletes wash their laundry at the RedSet Laundrette by Gorenje

On Sunday, December 11th 2011, Velenje hosted the 18th Cross-country Running European Championship with a record-breaking 534 competitors from 34 countries. After 1999, this was the second time this event took place in Velenje and Gorenje again supported the competition.
As the national sponsor of the Championship, Gorenje sought to provide some support to the competitors as well. To this end, they set up a RedSet Laundrette by Gorenje at the venue next to the Velenje Lake, in immediate vicinity of the start tent. The laundrette was available to the athletes free of charge throughout the Championships, offering washing and drying of their laundry for maximum comfort of the athletes during their stay in Velenje.
During the competition, the RedSet Laundrette by Gorenje was open non-stop from 9 AM to 4 PM and its open door attracted many a passer-by. The distinctive RedSet trio consisting of a refrigerator-freezer, washing machine, and condenser dryer with SteamTech technology, is impressive both for its daring design and for its technological perfection. The form and functionality are completed by its energy efficiency. The refrigerator-freezer is rated A++ as it only consumes 209 kWh per year. The washing machine's triple A-10%AA rating for efficient energy use, washing, and spinning effects, and the consumption of no more than 49 litres per cycle, make it one of the most efficient appliances in the market. The 7-kilogram drying capacity of the dryer rated in the highly efficient B energy class is equally convincing.
Washing the laundry at the Gorenje RedSet Laundrette
Sportswear was washed with the jogging program which is designed to wash sportswear that is yearly sweaty after being worn for one exercise session; the program only takes 17 minutes. More heavily soiled laundry was washing with the Synthetics 40°C program which, in the shorter mode, only takes 39 minutes. With this program, the additional function of high water level was also activated. For heavily soiled laundry, only the high water level was set for a 52-minute program. Sportswear was dried with the synthetics program which only uses half of the hot air power.
RedSet Laundrette by Gorenje was open on Sunday during the Championships from 9 AM to 4 PM. Teams of athletes from across Europe stopped at the Gorenje laundrette. The laundrette was available to the athletes free of charge throughout the Championships, offering washing and drying of their laundry. Sportswear was washed with the Jogging program or with the Synthetics 40°C program. And dried with the Synthetics program which only uses half of the hot air power. Slovenian team was particularly proud of Gorenje's support.
