Gorenje entered into European project ResCoM

In January 2014 Gorenje entered into European project ResCoM - Resource Conservative Manufacturing - transforming waste into high value resource through closed-loop product systems. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement No 603843. The ResCoM consortium consists of 12 organisations who demonstrate the high level of technical capabilities, business and market experience, and expert knowledge required to successfully develop and distribute the ResCoM technology:

• KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden – coordinator
• Fraunhofer- Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der Angewandten Forschung E.V., Germany
• Technische Universiteit Delft, Netherlands
• Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires, France
• Eurostep AB, Sweden
• Ideal & Co BV, Netherlands
• Granta Design Limited, United Kingdom
• Gorenje d.d., Slovenia
• Loewe Opta GmbH, Germany
• Tedrive Steering Systems GmbH, Germany
• Bugaboo International BV, Netherlands
• Ellen Macarthur Foundation, United Kingdom Transforming waste into high value resources is a high priority in today’s global economy.

ResCoM is an European Commission co-funded project working on the development of closed-loop product systems. The project will focus on some of the key ways to do this including remanufacturing, reuse and multiple lifecycles. The main objective of the ResCoM project is to develop an innovative framework and a collaborative software platform for the industrial implementation of closed-loop manufacturing systems. These pilots will demonstrate how the collecting, remanufacturing and upcycling of discarded products into new added-value products will be cost-effective, resource-efficient and more sustainable than the current linear manufacturing systems. Project started in Novembre 2013 and will run for 48 months. Official web side of the project is www.rescoms.eu.
