Meet the superheroes of the Gorenje Handball Club
It has been a tradition at the Gorenje Handball Club to publish a calendar each year. When designing the calendar, they are looking to move away from the sports themes and to create something different. This year, they have surprised with a fresh, "wacky" idea that also includes their general sponsor, Gorenje. The images on the calendar namely subtly, yet distinctively include Gorenje's new line of small household appliances Black Up; the team is obviously quite handy with those as well.
The youthful, fresh, even comic-like design of the Gorenje Handball Club calendar includes images of the role models – superheroes, thus addressing the younger, "Facebook" generation on the one hand, and turns to the female population which predominantly uses Gorenje's small household appliances – although its representatives may wish that wasn't always the case. Moreover, this year's edition of the calendar leaves an open path for your imagination and new interpretations.
"Response to calendar thus far was more than positive and I expect that it will find its place among the consumers quite soon. This was also made possible by Gorenje's open-mindedness displayed by the act of supporting our concept", said Mrs. Maja Lesjak, the author of the calendar, who drew her ideas from the trendy superheroes such as the Fantastic Four and the Incredible. Hence, Gorenje's handball Wasps were transformed into entirely new fantasy personalities. The calendar is also unique for its particular graphics created by Maja especially for this project. Costumes and makeup are also entirely her work, while the photos were taken by Aljoša Videtič.
The players featured in the calendar, in addition to the club hero, the wasp, are Adnan Harmandić, Bosnia and Herzegovina national team member (January), Georgian national team member Sergo Datukašvili (February), Rok Golčar (March), Croatian national team member Ivan Čupić (April), Slovenian national team member Boštjan Kavaš (May), Slovenian junior national team member Niko Medved (June), the sensation of this year's MIK 1 league Marko Bezjak (July), Aleš Sirk (August), the future of Slovenian goalkeepers Matevž Skok (September), team captain and former Slovenian national team member Sebastjan Sovič (October), Slovenian national team member Matjaž Mlakar (November) and Serbian national team member Momir Rnič (December).
