Promising Young Chefs Supported in Berlin
Gorenje provided a range of cookers and energy-efficient refrigerators for a cooking course for children, organized from March 27th to 25th in Berlin by a non-profit centre for leisure time activities of children, youngsters, and families, FEZ Berlin.
From March 17th to 25th, FEZ Berlin, the largest organization of its kind in Europe, organized for the first time a cooking course for children. One hundred professional chefs that included the renowned masters from top restaurants shared their cooking mastery with 4,000 children of different ages. During the course, the children prepared vegetarian dishes and light meals, learned about the international cuisine, energy-efficient cooking, and standards of hygiene to be observed. The key purpose of the cooking school was to teach the children in an entertaining way about maintaining a balanced diet, as an increasing number of them have problems with excessive body weight.
According to Thomas Wittling, head of marketing and sales at our German office, the project is an excellent way to promote a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet among children in their tender age, which is why the company decided to take part.
