Gorenje at the Milan Design Week 2010
World Premiere of the prototype Gorenje Ora-Ïto Carbon Collection
Gorenje and the French designer Ora-Ïto have taken their cooperation a step further. At this year's Milan Design Week, the new collection Gorenje Ora-Ïto Carbon saw its premiere. Currently still a prototype, this collection is a successor to the two hit collections Gorenje Ora-Ïto in black and white colour, created by this team in the past few years.
In Milan, Gorenje shared the company of several other globally renowned brands at the exclusive exhibition by the French designer Ora-Ïto, unveiling his latest creations in elegant black, which resulted from his cooperation with brands like Steiner, Guerlain, Christofle, Altro-Supergrif, Stepevi, Laguiole, and of course Gorenje. The extensive exhibition of Ora-Ïto's work was set up at the Magna Pars exhibition centre, one of the hallmarks of the famous Via Tortona in Milan. As expected, the attendance was overwhelming.
Special features of the new, prototype Gorenje Ora-Ïto Carbon Collection include the hobs, door and front sides made of satinated black glass, and a carbon fibre handle, the collection's hallmark that endows it with a sense of trendy urban style. The collection includes a fridge freezer, an induction hob, an oven with advanced electronic DirecTouch control, and a kitchen hood.
Each of the products displayed is a story unto itself; yet presented together, they reveal a tale of a young designer and his extraordinary relationship with various globally renowned brands. Through this collaboration, know-how and vision are merged to form a diverse collection of products that represent his cohesive minimalistic view of the world. Ora-Ïto's creations are designed in his distinctive style dubbed Simplexity, for which he says: “Simplexity is the art of making a complex object look simple."
