In an effort to prevent the spreading of coronavirus, we have timely implemented strict health and safety measures in all Hisense Europe Group companies, and we have been successful at coronavirus prevention. We are sharing our experience with other companies, and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia highlighted Hisense Gorenje as an example of good practice of epidemic prevention in manufacturing companies. At the same time, we are donating protective and medical equipment to the institutions and businesses who need it most at this point. We also offered the Government of the Republic of Slovenia free use of our hotels and vehicles, should the situation regarding the spreading of coronavirus become so much worse that such support would be needed. In China we have already prepared a new large shipment of protective and medical equipment for transport to Slovenia, including 200,000 masks, 500 respirators and a ventilator (artificial lung machine) that Hisense will donate to Slovenia.
After stopping the production in all Hisense factories across Europe for two weeks, until April 6, only those support services whose work is necessary to ensure either the safety or continuation of basic business operation processes will work at the company location. These activities must continue relatively uninterrupted in the company despite the production being stopped (firefighters, wastewater treatment plant, logistics, part of support services, part of R&D, maintenance, etc.).
We have introduced additional preventive measures
Despite the fact that most of our employees are at home, the same preventive measures are still in place throughout the company, to prevent the spreading of coronavirus. We have added to the measures also mandatory disinfection of offices to ensure the safety of those colleagues who are still at work in the company. The offices are being disinfected twice a day and those meeting rooms that are still in use are being disinfected after each use. Even more frequent disinfection is being implemented for the most frequented exterior and interior areas.
Responsible behavior at work and at home is crucial
Consistent preventive behavior is of utmost importance during the coronavirus epidemic, so we have prepared brief and easy to understand instructions on self-protective behavior, both in business and at home, to raise awareness among our employees and the general public. They can be shared through social networks and other communication channels. You can find them in the links below and we encourage you to share them further to reach as many users as possible, both among businesses and to educate and protect the health of those who are staying at home.
Hisense Group with further donations to Slovenia
Hisense Group continues to actively help assist with donations of protective medical equipment and medical appliances, donating 200,000 protective masks, 2,000 protective medical kits, 2,000 sets of medical protective clothing, 500 respirators and a ventilator (artificial lung machine). Hisense also made available its own warehouse in Qingdao and rented an additional warehouse where, with the help of the Slovenian embassy and ministries, they will also collect all other donations from China and ship them to Slovenia.
We also offered the Government of the Republic of Slovenia free use of our real estate premises (Paka hotel and villa Herberstein) and vehicles in the event that the situation regarding the coronavirus would get so much worse that such support would be needed, e.g. for isolation from infection or temporary accommodation.
